I have a GL1 and was originally going to shoot with a Beachtek XLR converter below it which made it a bit heavier, so I got a 3183 with 501 head. But now going to shoot without the Beaachtek and the camcorder is really light. I also have a Bogen 443 (made for still cameras) which is really light. Will that do the job? Curious what others think thanks.

Do you plan on mounting your 501 on the 443? The 443 certainly is rated as being able to support the GL1. Can
