  rigging problem

  Hi i have just rigged a character using the Character tool he seems to be ok however I have a couple of problems the legs are fine but the arms i can only use rotate but the move tool is locked when i try to use it.
  but even when i do animate using the rotate tool, ie im adding keyferames in the characters corridinates but the character is not moving? But the legs are fine.
  Any ideas, thanks Emmet
