  • Rig for steady face shot?

Looking for a rig or something to create a shot that stays with the subjects face.
For example the person will be moving thru a room looking to the left or to the right but the camera needs to stay on the persons face during the movement.

    Thanks

If you watch some of those tacky ghost hunting shows, and some of the extreme sports POV shows, the rigs break down into a couple of basic setups. One is a simple backpack frame with a tiny lipstick camera on a jointed arm or stalk or gooseneck arrangement. The arm wraps around in front of the wearer and gives you that eerie POV feeling. You could also chest-mount a little camera using something like football pads or the frame/harness that marching band drummers and the like wear to carry the heavy load while walking. or wear a steadicam with the camera pointing backwards?:-) A weighted, padded pendant hanging on your chest with a strap from your neck, with a flexible metal microphone gooseneck on it, might do… if the camera was verrrry light. I would add a belt around the midriff to keep the rig from swinging around too much. Practice care and safety with these rigs, in case someone falls down they could get hurt.
