    Hi all,
I’ve noticed something in CS3. The R/G/B/Alpha pulldown button, next to the Full/Half/Quarter resolution button has a yellow cross in the centre of it. Has that cross always been there, or is it something new for CS3? It still appears to work the same as in AE7 though.
    Thanks
    Stuart

The plus was new in CS3 and means you’re looking at the RGB channels with alpha transparency (as opposed to straight RGB).

    …I believe.

🙂 thanks. Solved it by sheer luck. Trying to find a solution to the ridiculous gamma shift problem between FCP and AE and noticed it appear and disappear.

That Yellow + sign means you have color management turned on. Which may explain why you are getting gamma shifts when you import into FCP. What color space are you using?

Hey, thanks. Unfortunately this gamma shift isn’t a color space problem, this is something that has been a problem for quite some time between FCP and AE. Why Apple and Adobe can’t sort this out is beyond me and it seems to be even worse with Red footage. There are quite a few threads about this problem so we probably shouldn’t start another one. But if you’re interested in it check out this thread

Indeed I’m aware of the issue. Thanks for the link.
