When I capture 4:4:4 HDCAMSR material using the AJA 10-bit RGB codec and I drop the footage into Shake for rendering Shake identifies the footage as 8-bit material. Is this true? Is this codec really 8-bit and not 10? How do I keep HDCAMSR material 10-bit in Final Cut?

    Hi Eugene,
Where do Shake identify the footage as 8b?

    Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
    G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
    PMBP 17″Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
    JVC DTV-17″
    SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table.

At the top of the interface, Shake identifies the bit depth that it is working in. According to shake the 10-bit material is really 8.
