  • Rewrite timecode of captured file.

Posted by Rodrigo Silvestri on October 30, 2010 at 1:35 am

Hi. I captured some DV footage with broken timecodes and drop frames. I set FCP not to stop after a tc break, neither after a dropped frame, so when it ended it warned me of the tc problems.
I don’t care about the tc of that footage, it won’t be recaptured. Is there a way to delete the tc and replace it with a new perfect tc?

    Thanks,
    Rodrigo.

Some people seem to love getting angry. I don’t 🙂

If you ignored timecode breaks then the file will have a continuous timecode. There is no need to change this.

However if you wish to completely burn the slight bridge back to the tape then try this –

or open it in fcp, then goto “modify”, “timecode” there you can set the reel, timecode and drop, non-drop settings. fcp will then change the clips time code.
