  • Rewinds Tape and Starts Capture All Over Automatically WHAT?

I had one of those Sony XDCam vtrs in here the other week and then again last week and everytime I tried to capture from it (SDI to Kona LH), it would start the capture (good), then stop and rewind the tape to the beginning and start capturing all over again (bad). No error messages or anything. Never at the same spot on the tape twice. Once I was 20 minutes into a 25 minute capture and it did it.
Today I’m using the DSR-1500A via firewire and am experiencing the same thing. I switched from my xServe RAID to a LaCie external FW800 cause FCP was aborting due to dropped frames (which they ain’t) and thought maybe, just maybe it would stop, but it did the same thing again after about 10 minutes into the tape.
Is this a feature? Like, check the box “abort on drop frames” or check the box “start capture all over whenever”.
Anyone else experienced this or know how to make it stop?

    FCP 5.1.2, OS X 10.4.7, QT 7.1.3, Kona LH

[Countdown] “Anyone else experienced this or know how to make it stop?”

Trash the FCP preference files and try your capture again.
