revolving text arountd a sphere AE CS5
First of all I want to mention that I have been an avid follower of your tutorials since I discovered them few months ago.
And now I have a question.
I have a spinning globe and want to add text to revolve around it in the opposite direction.
First of all I am trying to find out how to create the text and what effects I have to apply to do this.
I think I can figure out how to make it revolve in the opposite direction but first I have to create the text.Do you have a tutorial that I can follow to do this?

This forum is for help with expressions, so your question would be better suited to the general After Effects forum. I can answer you here, but it’s more likely to get an answer (or three) in the general forum 🙂
There’s a text animation preset that will give you text on a circular path. Search for “rotate around circle” in your Effects & Presets panel or in Animation > Browse Presets…
Apply this preset to your text layer. You can scale the Mask Path in order to increase the radius of the circle. The preset has the “First Margin” property animated to rotate the text, you can adjust these keyframes as you need or alternatively remove them and animate the Rotation Z of the layer.
The most challenging part of this might be to occlude the text when it’s on the backside of your sphere. For that I’d probably just create a 3D solid layer to matte the text layer.

Sorry I must’ve clicked the wrong forum I thought I was in AE
But thanks for your answer.
I am at the point that I have created the planet and the text BUT as you well predicted by problem is that is doesn’t go around the back of the sphere.
I saw the preset you mentioned but have no clue how to apply it to render that effect.Will post this question the AE Forum. Thanks again.
