Reversing footage degrades quality + audio compression mystery
hi there,
I have a couple of problems that i can’t seem to find answers to anywhere on the net – both of which are incredibly aggravating!The first has to do with when i export a film at any setting at all – (principally uncompressed AVI full quality) any footage that i’ve reversed in the timeline is noticeabley degraded with comblike horizontal artifacts throughout in the exported .avi clip. This degradation is noticeable when i try using many different media players to play the file or watch it as a burned dvd on my tv. any ideas? the unreversed footage looks fine. Sometimes incidentally the reversed footage will also appear darker in the rendered movie as though i had adjusted the contrast..
The second problem is that every time i insert a .WAV audio file into the timeline both when i play the sound within premiere and when i export the movie, the sound is compressed and warbly sounding (like a badly encoded mp3) yet it’s a full CD quality .WAV file created in adobe audition.

Try exporting the reversed files with reversed field order….upper field first.
