November 7, 2006 at 5:30 amYou, my friend, have spent a lot of time on this 😉
Great results !!
Now, I’m sure Echospace could take care of that layer duplication, been trying to find a second use of that plug in ever since I bought it 😉

November 7, 2006 at 12:40 pmNot sure what you mean,
do you mean that we are looking at the projection and the rays are originating from below us ?
Should work fine by just readjusting the position of the camera.I tweaked the file some more to have greater resolution and have the projection end in a smaller dot than in the previous example.
The camera moves to a point you might find suitable, tweak it to your tasteAlso, this one uses CCRadial Blur with a negative amount, so it’s a bit more subtle, but the rays will never go further than the screen.
Lastly, as a test the beam copies all had Motion blur activated: that’s something even most 3D apps won’t do easily: motion blur on volumetrics: yeay !
the comp is up for grabs at:

November 7, 2006 at 12:42 pmDon’t own echospace, but in essence i’ve programmed it’s functionality into my precomp:
mutliple echos scaling up and fading out. I put some sliders on a null to control spacing and fading decay, but I believe echospace does the same, so there you go: Trapcode is the answer to everything 😎

July 5, 2010 at 7:45 amSweet! Thank you very much, Filip! The video looks just great! Believe me, I’ve searched all over the internet but I couldn’t find anything even close in quality to this solution.

June 3, 2015 at 1:23 pmHi
I’m aware this was all a very long time ago, but does anyone still have a copy of the project? I am have been building my on as per Filip’s instructions, but am starting to realise why he used expressions when offsetting the layers. Also wondered if in the interim any new solutions have been dreamt up.
Thank you
Ed
