I would really like to be able to get this function to work. I’m on FCP4.5 I’ve selected in the timeline, selected in the source side, highlighted the clip in the timeline and when I shift-F I get nothing. No bin highlighted in the browser. I’m hoping for a command a la Avid where you hit a button and it shows you in the bins where that footage is. Thanks!

Do you have that master clip accessible in that project? If shift f is doing nothing, then chances are the clip is NOT in your project. If that is the case, then you want to “right Click” on the clip and select “reveal in finder”. THis will open up a finder window with the path to your original clip… very helpful to find where your clip is hiding.

PS The AVID will do the same thing if you don’t have the clip in the project.
This is more about how your organize your material than anything else.
