  • Reveal footage in sequence?

    Hello

I love the feature in After Effects where I can right-click any item and choose ‘reveal footage in composition’ and it provides a submenu of compositions that have that item in.

Is there an equivalent in FCP? I know there’s the fairly useless but grandly named ‘reveal affiliated clips in front sequence’, but that only works if I know which sequence contains the clip(s), kind of defeating the object of the command. What if I have a clip which I think may have been used in one of the dozens of sequences in my project, but I’m not sure which? Ridiculously, even if I have a sequence open, but not in the frontmost tab, FCP seems incapable of finding the clip within it.

Or is there some command I’m missing?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t think so but you can have a sequence active and search

    Thanks Chris.

Maybe FCP X can do it – guess I’ll never know (not going down the FCP X route – not until FCP Y at least!)
