Reveal a black line drawing?
Does anyone have any elegant ways of revealing black line drawings? I have a few that I have done and want to animate them on. I know I can’t re-draw them at once, but even if they feel like they are “bleeding” on to a page. I was thinking of like the equivalent of “Erode” and then just reversing the transition, but I don’t see erode as an effect.

Hi. The nearest thing to an “erode” could be the Roughen Edges effect, might be worth a look.

“Bleeding” onto the page gave me the idea that you could use a large-scale fractal noise for a “depth” map for lens blur and run that from a large radius to zero. Or use levels to offset the white point of the fractal noise so as to get some parts coming in focus earlier than others.

There are watercolor or ink stock footage that could work well as a luma matte.
