I’m looking how to do an effect of a engine reving a rev conter, I have all the elements in photoshop of the rev counter i.e the numbers, needle, background. I have the sound of a reving car, what I need to do is match the rev counter to the sound of the reving car.
Is there a way in which you can either with a plug in or expressions, attatch the needle of the rev counter to the sound of the car’s sound wave, so that when the car revs the needle will move according to the amplification of the sound wave.

trapcode soundkeys will give you the most flexibility.

you can try doing it with AE’s covert sound to keyframes assistant.

tie that to the needles rotation with expressions and you’re set.

i think if you do a search here on some of those topics you’ll find a toon of info (well at the least what you need)
