Haven’t needed to for some time, but I’ve seen it done.

Assuming the US equivalent is “Great Stuff”? I know there are both expanding and non-expanding varieties, not sure which would be best.

I would go with Great Stuff, and get an estimate on volume by putting a squirt of it in a small disposable shot glass or similar cup, and measuring the expansion. Also, cover everything with plastic drop cloth and gaff tape first because the stuff is stickier than anything else I know.

After reading reviews from others on a few other forums, I just bought my first custom foam insert from https://www.mycasebuilder.com. I am really impressed with the quality and their customer service. Certainly not as cheap as a DIY route like this, but surprisingly more inexpensive than I expected; in face, very reasonable.
