    Hello everyone,

I’m trying to accomplish this effect, anybody know on how to create this “blinds” transition? You know the thin to thick lines or strokes, not satisfied with the bulit-in AE plugin venetian blind effects :/ If anyone knows how could help, that will be appreciated! ???? Thanks!

on the original open, it looks like a simple mask or track matte layer with the pattern that is animated across the screen.

for the newer tv show version you might look at using card wipe on a solid and use the solid as a track matte. setting card wipe ‘rows’ to 1 will make vertical lines (or cards), setting the flip axis to ‘y’ will get the rotation needed and setting the back layer to ‘none’ will keep the solid from wiping back on.

make the solid larger than the comp to avoid seeing the top and bottom edges of the ‘cards’ as they rotate and also allow you to angle it to match the example.

There’s also the Venetian Blinds effect.
