    i shoot in hdv, and now i want to capture it in dvcprohd with my kona lhe card to edit. can you control the deck… batch capture… keep the timecode?
    i dont think you can, but maybe there is a way.

    RS-422 to the deck to control it…that also captures timecode. Sure…very possible. Wouldn’t recommend this option if you didn’t get time code. That is gold.

    What are you capturing from? If using firewire, change the deck control to firewire, keep video/audio routed through the Kona and you should be good.

    I capture HDV from the Canon camera with HD SDI to the Blackmagic card and firewire control for time code/ machine control. I usually go straight to uncompressed HD as I am online conforming finished edits.

    The offline is done with firewire capture from the HDV camera/ deck as DV codec. Timecode is good both for offline and recapture
