Restoring old source footage. . .
Hey.
So a week or so back I posted this question . . .
“What’s the best way to treat damaged and pixelated footage?”
Some of you may remember it? I just wanted to re-post it because it went a little off topic, or at least I did, this happens whenever the word “Copyright” gets mentioned on one of my threads lol.
So my question this time is, whats the best way to clean up grainy footage? is it a case that it has to be treated frame by frame? is there anyway to capture a “noise template” in the same way that you can remove noise from an audio recording? or whats going on. .
Secondly, There is a lot of pixeled footage around, lot’s of people who would like to convert SD in to HD, why hasn’t anyone invented a plugin that can increase resolution? Surely it should be fairly straight forward no?, When you time stretch a section of footage your creating new pixels that wern’t there in the first plaice, this is also used in morphing, So . why can’t someone make a plugin that “Samples” each pixel, calculates and inserts new pixels using adjacent pixels as a reference?
Anyway, some tips one cleaning up grainy footage would be really helpfull, if anyone one know’s the “Propper” way to do this, I’d be very glad to hear from you.
Regards Richie.
