  • Restoring files after major crash…

    Hi –

We recently had a major meltdown of our RAID. Now, as I rebuild projects, some of the master clips come up as “unable to open, not in a format QT understands.” I can recapture, of course, but is there a possibility of fixing these files? Is this a resource fork issue? Or do you think they are just trashed?

    Thanks.

    Ron,

Bummer!!! Most often in cases like this only the file header information has survived, not the actual media file itself, so QT is unable read it. You could try running Disk Warrior to see if it can reconstruct the files, but it probably won’t work.
