  • Resolve screws up my FCPX XML’s

So i got a hold of Resolve “Lite”. Amazing software!

But when i try to import an XML from Final Cut Pro X it cant seeme to find some of the clips and ramdomly replaces them “Missing” clips with some of the other ones.

If i try to reimport the XML to Final Cut it works just fine, so im thinking it must be something i do wron on import in Resolve.

Or maby there is some sort of requirements on file formating in resolve? Though i seeme to have transcoded all the footage to ProRes but a few of the clips are Quicktime in the “Animation” codec and i cant get Final Cut to transcode those.

    Any one?

Are the missing clips the ones which have the Animation codec?

    Great! Resolve lite….free! FCPX….rubbish! Animation codec….wrong!
Before anyone starts billing for any job done on resolve…do your homework.

Resolve lives and dies by “REEL” & “TC”.

Any conflicts between the two and you will have issue. Also, do yourself a favor and read the supported Codec Doc that BMD has created.

    Thank you

i’ve read the supported codecs list and the Animation codec is probably the issue since it is not supported.
I will try to reencode those clips today and post it here for future refference.
