Resolve: Prores In/Out on Windows PC?
Help for a rookie please. I’m about to spend $2,000 on a new Windows machine, to do Fusion VFX for an indie feature. In earlier tests on a mac I’ve been rendering out alpha-channel clips as ProRes4444.
However I’ve just read that on Windows you cannot encode ProRes in Resolve Studio (but you can in Fusion Studio). So for alpha exports what’s the best codec to use within Windows?
In view of all this, should I just splash extra cash and go with a new Mac instead of PC?? Thanks.

The Mac option is much more expensive and limits you to AMD GPUs. DNxHR has alpha options with DNxHR444. But if you are doing VFX in Fusion then it can render ProRes4444. Or are you just using Fusion in Resolve?
