RESOLVE -> Premiere – Roundtrip use RELINK methods
Wanting to simulate a workflow I have experience with in AVID by simply relinking color graded masters. Well it’s not always simple but it was an efficient way of roundtripping. We got around limitations by adding REEL or TAPE names in metadata columns and am wondering if relink in premiere can act similarly.
I’m seeing a lot information out there about getting xmls to and from Resolve (which is something we do often for one way trips), and then manually conforming your sequence back in Premiere, but not seeing much in the ways of an option to relink your offline edit sequence to color graded masters. I’ve done some tests with some success but am getting diagonal lines on my clips once I relink – many ways of Premiere saying there is some type metadata missing in order to read properly – among a multitude of other potential problems. Correct?
Any one have any advice, or am I trying to make something possible that isn’t worth the squeeze?
