    Hey Folks,

Does anybody know if you can alter or add formats to the “Output Type” on the Render page? I really need to output SD MXF files w/ avid DV25 codec that is compatible with Pro Tools w/ Avid MOJO. Looks like only uncompressed is supported. We need this to make ref videos for the audio department. Pro Tool’s systems using MOJO require MXF with DV25 or DV50 codec to work with maximum efficiency — I know other formats “sort of work”. I am aware that you can use a QuickTIme on the 2nd desktop, however, we must use the MXF/Mojo workflow.

Currently we are using Avid MC to do the conversion. Not sure if the MXF option add’s this or not. Not many people need or care about MXF DV25 SD any more! But, a Pro Tools w/Mojo does.

    thanks!!

I have the AVID plugin on my system and I just checked my output options and the only SD MXF options I have availible are:
    MXF UYVY422 PAL 8bit
    MXF UYVY422 NTSC 8bit
Not what you’re looking for. Sounds like you’d have to bring the output into AVID and convert it there.
It’s interesting to note that there are no DV QT output settings either, but then again you usually want hi-quality outputs out of the grading system so maybe that’s why they aren’t included.

    Hey Roman,

Thanks for checking on that! I did try the uncompressed MXF SD UYVY422 NTSC @ 24fps…. this worked on the Mojo, but it is uncompressed… so not a great solution for reference pic. For very short things it is OK, just such a speed and disc pig. All they need to do is add the Avid DV codec support and we can rock and roll. They did get the MXF formatting part correct for Avid interchange. There are a few things I’ve tried that make MXF files that won’t import into Avid systems.

    I’ll make my feature request.
