I may be living in a total fantasy land, but is there any kind of historic version of Resolve that will work with my machine?

    MacBook Air
    13-inch, Late 2010
Processor 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

    Thanks for any help.

    Richard

Probably not. Resolve 10 needs at least 8GB of RAM to run on a system and you don’t have much RAM on that machine and the realtime playback would be virtually not existent for any type of media even if you did get something on there.

If you want to run Resolve on a laptop I’d recommend a MacBook Pro. The new Air could probably run the current version, but I’d doubt an Air would holdup running Resolve as long as a Pro over the 3-5 year life of the machine.

Time for you to go shopping! 🙂

Thank you for that reply, Ryan.

Sadly I won’t have the budget for a new machine for a while.

Was there ever a Resolve that was less memory intensive? Say versions 1-9?

Here’s the Resolve 8 Configuration Guide:

    Resolve 9 Config Guide:

Most Resolve releases have demanded a decent amount of RAM to run. Although, you may just try and download version 10 and see if it opens on your computer. I suspect it might, but it won’t run very smoothly.

    Hi Richard,
I just installed Resolve 10 on my mid 2012 13” Macbook Air (4Gb RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB)
No realtime playback but otherwise works fine.
I had tried again to install Resolve on this machine with no results. Mavericks and Resolve 10 is what it needed to work.

Yeah I wonder if Mavericks does the trick… I’m looking to run resolve on a macbook air and can’t find anything about it online… Vagelis can you confirm how it’s working for you? Thanks -J.

I am running Resolve Lite 11 beta 1 now on osx 10.9 with no problems
performance is of course not optimal, but it is fine to check some things (like new versions etc)
