I was excited about the release of Resolve Lite and was hoping to try it out as a replacement to the EOL’d Color. I work primarily with small projects and have been running Final Cut/Color/After Effects and Premiere Pro with no problems on my MacBook Pro. I’ve been working in HDV and HD; but nothing approaching 4K or anything.

Looking at the configuration guide, I thought my system would run Resolve Lite. However, I was getting an error about the CUDA setup. I fixed that by using a utility (gfxCardStatus) that simply ensures the NVIDIA card is powered when I open Resolve. Now I don’t get the error but Resolve crashes as soon as I start a new project. Is there a configuration that will work for my system? Relevant specs below. If not is there a simple change I can make or do I simply need a desktop with a Quadro or something to run Resolve Lite? Thank you for any help.

In Energy Saver, switch off the automatic power saving checkbox. Please refer to the config guide which ships with the software.

Thanks for the response. I had changed the energy management settings after I installed Resolve. Today I simply uninstalled all black magic apps and repaired permissions. After that I reinstalled and have had no issues–other than of course now I have to learn the software ; )

Perhaps there was a permission issue or having the settings correct before install makes a difference. I’m just happy I’ve got it going now.

I am still having this same problem with Resolved Lite. The program starts but then stops after creating a new project. It doesn’t give me an error message or anything, just vanishes.

I tried reinstalling, turning off automatic graphics and repairing permissions. Same issue.

Any one have any other solutions?

No never did figure it out. I also have not read through the Manual, so going to do that over the holidays and maybe drop their tech support an email.
