Hello friends,

Resolve Lite – Broken? – Timeline thumbnails, Proxies, PTRZ

Yes, I’m using Resolve Lite on with an unsupported card – ATI Radeon 4780, running on a Mac Pro Quad-Core 2.93 with 8 GB RAM.

Timeline thumbnails – All look like digital snow or torn video. But the thumbnails in the still store display and memories display look fine.

Proxies – Doesn’t work at all. When I turn it on in the config panel, the playback in the color tab is all mashed up. Then thought I would instead make them first before using them in the color tab but nothing happens when invoking the process – I select a folder, right click to add to proxy generator, and the proxy generator window appears, but with nothing loaded. Can’t get anything to happen that way.

PTRZ – Any attempt to use these controls causes the images in the color tab to break up, sometimes turning into digital snow.

Any thoughts?

Yeah Joe, perhaps I should have boldfaced my original acknowledgement about not using a supported system.

Hey Joe,

Looks like the 4780 card doesn’t support Open CL so its not going to work with Resolve.

I may be wrong but as far as I can tell this seems the case.

I do have an instance of the AVID/Resolve full license running now with ATI 5770 and nVidia QFX4000. Looking forward to the arrival of 8.1

Tim, are you actually talking about a ATI radeon 4870?

mac os LION states:
