Hi all, lets talk about the elephant in the room.
I, personally , am not able to use Resolve as an editing system due to its extremely slow speed.
When zoomed into a timeline that consist of more than a handful object the responsiveness is extremely slow.
I t does not matter if I have waveform or images displayed or not, its the number of clips that slows it down.
The same timeline roams free in Avid, FCP or even Premiere…
Yesterday I had to consolidate 7 hours of footage and i was unable to click anywhere without a 20 second penalty.
    I can’t do this…
How is everyone else’s experience with that ?
This goes for R10-12, no change here.

I tend to agree with you. I played around a little bit with it yesterday and I really like the interface, but the speed of doing things is very clunky. Also when I play clips I don’t get real time speed and lots of stutters. Maybe it’s because I have an older computer, but I do have a NVIDIA GTX680 graphics card. I’ll have to stick with Premiere Pro for now.

I’m not defending buggy software, but just keep in mind guys, this release is acknowledged to be Beta software.

I am talking about Resolves edit room, not hardware or beta software.

We can discuss this on R 11.3.1 or any other release.
As soon as you have a populated timeline, lets say four layers, 40 minutes, mixed media.
I have a proper Raid with 600 mb/s+ and three cards working.

The problem occurs when doing single frame corrections, for example to fix a freeze frame and such.
And only in the edit page.
