Love to chat with someone using Resolve for Broadcast delivery here in the UK. Coming back to online after a 10 year spell of off lineing so file delivery is a bit of a new concept…

Just downloaded a free version of MainConcept but the xml thing is confusing…

Also is there still nothing that legalises colours in Resolve? I used to use legaleyes and before that I had a Harris unit that used to beep at me…Broadcast safe just does the luma levels – is there a plug in that every one uses? Of does the Gamut Mapper suffice?

Does everyone just put it back into Media Composer?

What QC does everyone use (I’m on a Mac so Vidchecker don’t work)

    Hey Sean,

I’m guessing that you are thinking about a DCP delivery?
Although “DPP is the international association for media and technology.” that is involved in proposing and agreeing industry standards such as DCP and AS-11.

I just recently switched from PPro to Davinci and MediaComposer, still getting used to it. Should add that I am “in-between” computers (PC) for running the software, which is a long story yet to be told. Once I get that sorted out, I’ll take the AVID MC for a spin.

For monitoring, I use OmniScope Pro:
    https://timeinpixels.com/nobe-omniscope/

It also has a QC element that I have yet to use in anger.

One thing to watch out for is whether the client wants REC.709 or REC.2020 or REC.2100?
There are other options, but basically it comes down to 4K, HDR or not.

Starting point would be for you to get the specs from the end-client.

Once you have that, it should be straightforward to QC and wrap in a DCP or similar.
Although, you may want to check audio requirements too.

    Hope that this helps?

Hey Mads – Its a DPP AS-11 delivery for a UK Broadcaster so not a DCP….so needs an XML file added which is witchcraft to me….

I’m also looking for a “belt and braces” legaliser plug in for DVR

    Hey Sean,

    Right, got it.

This might be a good starting point to understand the process of editing XML inside a AS-11 file:
    https://cinedeck.com/uncategorized/tutorial-as11-dpp/

You can “rent” it for $44 for one day only here, but suggest that you have a go at the free trial first:

Hope this helped a bit more than my previous answer.

Sorry, should have added that on the “legaliser” part, you have options such as BorisFX Sapphire or Continuum – both can be hired on a monthly basis.

I’m still waiting for BorisFX to come up with a transfer plan for my BCC and Mocha Pro from Adobe CC to Davinci and Avid.
As I’ve heard nothing, I’m guessing that I am on the monthly plan for if and when needed – if ever, as I am learning new tools…
