    Hi there.
    Just thought I’d reach out to the herd to share in other’s experiences.

    I’m giving Resolve a shot at NLE. It wasn’t really intended, but since I had realtime playback on my 2.5K RAW BMCC footage, I just kept refiining my rough cut with dailies and grade tests more and more, until I realized that need to get to Final Cut, but my “offline” was completely done in Resolve!

    With audio I don’t quite get realtime after doing complex nodes, but found an easy solution to just stay in Resolve – To get consistent realtime back I just switched to Local Grades with no adjustments and I’m good to go. I’ll flip back to the Remotes once I’m happy with the final cut. And do final grade then…

    Curios to hear what are you guys experiences with Resolve as NLE? Anyone else starting to creep this way too?

    Having to upgrade to Mavericks for gfx card drivers is the nail in the coffin for FCP for us and definitely going to try and do all my cutting in Resolve rather than switch to avid/premiere. Looking forward to not rendering everything…

    Until you can do the most basic NLE navigations like use the keyboard to enter timecode destinations on the timeline I’m not going to consider Resolve a viable option.

    Of course if you buy the $30k panel you can enter tomecode!

    There’s a bunch of other stuff too by the way but it stsrts with timeline navigation.

    I hear you. I’ve missed that more than a few moments. + Being able to move clips by typing +TIMECODE in their position.

    But not having to render really opens up a lot of possibilities for RAW workflow.
    Last but not least: NOT HAVING TO CONFORM! That takes away a HUGE chunk of work out of my current PP / FCP to Resolve workflow.

    Mavericks caused a huge chunk of pain here too. I dialled back to 10.8 on all of the machines.
    Apple went funky with the FCPX upgrade to be Mavericks only. I’m OK with that if Mavericks was solid. But its not for my MacPro 2.1, 3.1 and 5.1 at all…

    Way too many bugs and odd behavior in the edit page to do real work. Navigation is super clunky, disabling tracks doesn’t make them invisible. Locking tracks makes the track invisible. No time code entry.

    @Francois Driessen
    Thanks for making this post. I have some interest in learning some color correction workflows.
