Resolve and new MacBook Pro Nvidea 650m
Posted by Christopher Adams on June 11, 2012 at 7:10 pmWith 2 thunderbolt ports I assume 1 for high speed raid array and the other or a bmd hdsi box. Could get interesting.

June 11, 2012 at 7:23 pmYes, I’m curious how this 650M would do compared to a GTX285, which is the fastest I’m used to at this point?
I looked at the specs on the Nvidia site, and the 650M seems to have a higher clock and more cores, but bandwidth is less than a 285.
Possibly for 1080p video only (+GUI, of course), the bandwidth is enough?

June 11, 2012 at 8:28 pmThe 650M should perform significantly faster than the 285. In theory. I would guess comparable to a gtx470.

June 11, 2012 at 9:14 pmThough if this is being used to work the display could this then not be used for cuda?

June 11, 2012 at 9:29 pmThere is an integrated gpu which can run GUI, freeing 650m for CUDA.

June 11, 2012 at 9:36 pmI think that is auto switching like all of the Macbook-Pro’s and that you can use either the Intel 4000 GPU or the 650m but not both at the same time.
