Posted by Pierre Reischer on January 10, 2013 at 3:01 pmHi folks, when playback hd footage the cuda gpu shows a red sign over the viewer and it plays the video only at 20 or sometimes even less frames per second.
what is the solution to this problem?

i have a single NVIDIA Quadro 4000 2048 MB, do i need a second gpu card?

January 15, 2013 at 11:29 pmWell I’m facing the same issue with prores4444 1080p – 22fps playback.
32gb ram, gtx690 and a quadro 400 for GUI, RAID (tho it makes no difference if raid or not).We are all atomic and subatomic particles and we are all wireless…

January 16, 2013 at 6:47 amDid you try turning on “Optimized monitoring” in the Video Monitoring section? It helps when using a single GPU with Decklink Video monitoring.

I forgot to mention this when we chatted , but this solution is not available in 3d because it corrupts the hdsdi output.

January 16, 2013 at 11:06 amIf you use a Decklink 3D+ and run it in dual SDI mode, where you have left and right eye coming out of different SDI sockets, you should be able to use the optimized mode. The HDMI output can be configured to do side-by-side, etc. from the Decklink control panel.

January 16, 2013 at 10:08 pmI have the same problem with both my systems as well.
ProRes4444 with audio from either an internal RAID striped for speed or external drive.
18-20fps at 10bit monitoring
20-22fps at 8bit monitoring. It generally plays perfectly in the conform room.
Doesn’t matter what tab is selected in the color room (power window, curve, etc.)
Room 1
12 core
16gb of RAM
GT120 GUI
GTX570 GPURoom 2
4core
12GB of RAM
4870 GUI
3x GTX285 GPUBut they both give identical playback speeds; super frustrating.
