Resolve 9 Oddities
Did my 1st grading session using 9, then finished in Smoke. For the most part, went great. A few oddities though….
–I had to resize aspect on 2 shots. When I conformed in Smoke, ALL of the shots were wide. Went back to Resolve, they were all set to 1.0 aspect. Set them to .83, and the output was fine…..
–When using either FCP Easy setup, the black levels were raised upon export. When using “None”, all was fine.
–Importing an XML from Resolve caused Smoke 2012 to crash. Ended up using XML from FCP and all was fine.Overall, everything was great and client was happy. So I guess that is all that matters….

Crashing software is a good reason not to use betas in client sessions.
