  • Resolve 8.2 -> FCP X xml 1.1 import bug

Posted by Arthur Dobbe on April 8, 2012 at 2:23 pm

    1) New project
    2) Load movie in scene detector
    3) Cut movie into scenes and split to browser
    4) Create Master session and Default session 1
    5) Export Default session 1 as FCP X xml 1.1 file
    6) Try to import xml file into FCP X
    7) FCP X shows pop-up: “Element sequence content does not follow the DTD, expecting (note?, spine), got”

Exporting as FCP X xml 1.0 seems to work fine.

Does anybody know how you can report this kind of bugs to BlackMagic ? On their website I couldn’t find an email address or form.

    thanks

Had the same problem, exporting to XML 1.0 instead of 1.1 seems to fix it.

    Out of curiosity,

What in the world are you guys working on that needs you to go from a single big file, color correct, and THEN go INTO to FCPX?

It’s been hurting my brain all morning, and I can’t get it out of there.

Oh, my problem didn’t involve the big file thing, just the export to XML 1.1 and subsequent “Element sequence content does not follow the DTD” error. I was coming from FCPX in the first place.

For what it’s worth, I opened up the XML Resolve made and it turns out to be empty. Which would explain the DTD error…

Rendering out to a single file in FCP X was my last resort when I found out that I couldn’t export my project as XML for import in Resolve.

The FCP X 10.0.4 + Resolve 8.2.1b have now resolved this problem. (Although Resolve currently crashes when I import the newly exported XML file of above project…)

    regards, Arthur

I’m getting this error right now when trying to open an XML I exported from Resolve 9.0.3.009 into FCP X 10.0.6. Does anyone have an idea about what’s causing it? I’ve included a screen shot of the error. Thanks in advance for any assistance…
