As per a discussion over in the Apple Color room, what aspects of the new Resolve 8 are still CUDA only, even though this app now runs on OpenCL?

On CL you have some limitations as you know up HD rez and noise reduction runs on CUDA.

SO if you will want to have maximum off your system you will get cuda gpu’s.

If i’m not mistaken then CL only supports one gpu as CUDA can run 4 or more.

Hot this gives you some info.

We are recommending the OpenCL implementation for only up to HD res and currently its only available on a single GPU. Noise Reduction is only possible on the CUDA GPUs due to the high processing demands required for NR.
On the Mac OS X up to three CUDA GPUs can be used for image processing, another GPU for the UI, and on the Linux OS we support up to 16GPUs.
