  • Resolve 7.1.2 won’t start

Sometimes Resolve just refuses to start. Usually it happens after several start-grading-quit sessions.
The last line on the splash screen is “Checking Licenses”, and then it quits. And doesn’t work until reboot.
    Console says:

Is anybody has the same problem or solution?

I’ve encountered this, I find that it sometimes happens if I boot the system with the dongle plugged in. I unplug the dongle, boot, and then plug it in, post boot.

Hmmm, for me it never happens on the fresh booted system, only after several hours of work. Mostly when i work in Resolve, then close it and work in FCP, then Resolve again. I’ve tried to replug the dongle, but this doesn’t help. Only reboot or relogin.

Do you have the dongle plugged straight into the machine or via a USB hub? Had some troubles with that before…

    Resolve system:
    MacPro 8 core 2010 – 16B memory
9TB harddisk (1 system disk, 8TB in software raid 0 for data)
    Nvidea GTX285
    Nvidea GT120
    Blackmagic SDI Decklink
    RedRocketcard.
    Tangent Wave panel
    Transvideo 15″ Cinemontor Evolution

Also running it on a MacBook Pro 17″ (5.2)
    160gb SSD and 750gb HD
    8gb mem

I’ve run into this issue. I think it’s being caused by FCP controlling the decklink. If i quit FCP, I can start Resolve again fine.

[Bastiaan Houtkooper NSC] “Do you have the dongle plugged straight into the machine or via a USB hub? Had some troubles with that before…”
Bastiaan, the dongle plugged directly into one of the USB ports (on the back side of Mac)

[Brandon Thomas] “I’ve run into this issue. I think it’s being caused by FCP controlling the decklink. If i quit FCP, I can start Resolve again fine.”
Brandon, no, the FCP is closed when i’m trying to start Resolve.

Generally the problem just happens time to time.
Sometimes i can run Resolve and FCP simultaneously (with FCP Video Out turned off), sometimes i just can’t start Resolve alone.
