Resolve 16 (free) on Linux – no H.264-H.265 codec or .mp4 file format?

Hi Jim,

I’m on 16b1 studio, and have mp4/h264 (native and AMD) and Quicktime/h264. I’m on Windows, and never looked at the free version, this probably doesn’t help.

I need to rotate and edit .mp4s from an iPhone.
Right now I can’t even view them.

Just want some confirmation that this won’t be an issue with Studio version on Linux.

I don’t think the H.264/H.265 support changed much between 15 and 16. I do think 16 is a little too buggy to use, but it’s fine for experimenting.

Hi Jim,

If you upload a small sample some place that I can access, I would be happy to test it in 16b1. Something smaler than 50 mb, please.

As Marc post, the beta version I’m on is not stable enough for production work (although I have had very few issues, so far), but I don’t think it would be fine for testing your iPhone source.
