I just got a new (used) computer
an iMAC 2017 4.2Mhz i7 with 64G RAM and Radeon Pro580 8G graphics card running Mojave . I was coming from an older IMAC with an Nvidia Cuda card in it
To make the transition I used Mac’s migration assistant .

I had used Resolve 14 previously and had a few projects in it. When I opened the new machine Resolve 16.2.1 opened up and I read a few things that said it was buggy so immediately uninstalled it and downloaded Resolve 15.3.1 . Here’s where my problems began and I can’t find any information about it.

First the GPU configure page asked to use my CUDA card which of course doesn’t exist so I opened the GPU configuration and didn’t see the Radeon as a choice only Open CL, Cuda, Metal and Auto. I chose Auto but still don’t know if Resolve is seeing my Radeon card .

The next window to open up though is Databases and it asks me to Log in with a password. I don’t know what password to wants and its not accepting anything I throw at it including my admin password or a password I have written down somewhere for Resolve ( but that might just be for the forum. ) I can’t get past this window as it says Password required. No option to reset password either.

This sounds like a problem with which you’re going to have to contact BMD support directly. If the database is munged and won’t open, I can’t see what to do. I have never seen a password request for a database in Mac OS or Windows, but you do have to do it with an external Linux Project Server (usually set to “DaVinci”).
