June 20, 2013 at 4:13 pmPretty cool. Alexis Van Hurkman showed off some of the new features in 10. Multiple windows to match color over different shots. Some essential editing tools new to Resolve, which will make a lot of people happy. The UI looks really nice and streamlined. The best part are the new mask features and plugin support. Makes me wish I had it on my current gig.

July – September is Quarter 3 for businesses. They have historically released updates to DaVinci in June and July the last few years. I’m hoping for July, but between their camera releases and major updates to DaVinci, and their newly development products they do have their plates pretty full right now!

I’m assuming you mean performance in relation to DaVinci Resolve on the new Mac Pro….Grant Petty posted on the Blackmagic forums immediately after the Apple announcement:
“I think this new MacPro is amazing and those 2 GPUs are incredibly powerful. I am not sure what I can say however there is a whole new OpenCL and DaVinci Resolve 10 is having lots of performance work done to integrate it and its really really fast. Those GPUs are very high performance and each GPU has lots of graphics memory so this is the Mac we have been waiting for! We have lots of Thunderbolt products too so video in and out is taken care of.
Overall we could not be happier!”

June 21, 2013 at 1:48 pmNo…we won’t know anything until Apple ships the tube. Anybody who is testing a new Mac Pro is certainly under NDA and is not legally allowed to comment publicly about it in any detailed way.
