    Hi Guys

I have read so many different threads and I’m still confused. I think I have the resolutions understood now but I’m not sure what is best for me.

I am filming a promo for my friends business this wknd which will be shown on the web (and I shall give her a copy on DVD) here is what the footage will be:

Sony V1E 720×576 which I guess is used for TV 4:3 (should I change this because it is an HD camera)
Gopro HD Camera 1920×1080 which is 1080p.
My sequence settings Frame Size 720×576
Pixel Aspect Ratio PAL CCIR 601 (720×576) Anamorphic 16:9
    Field Dominance Lower, Even
    Editing timebase 25
    Quicktime Video Settings – Compressor – DV-Pal

At the moment FCP just asks me if I want everything to be changed to the sequence settings, so I guess the gopro footage at 1920×1080 is being changed to 720×576 when I drop it onto the sequence. Should I convert my footage first in mpeg streamclip to whatever my sequence setting is or should I just change my sequence setting to whatever it should be and then drop in the footage and let FCP change it for me, and what should I set my sequence to if I am making a video to be shown on the tele and to be put onto the web?

And should I be shooting everything in 1920x1080p

My camera man friend has told me I should be shooting this in Progressive Scan, although I am not sure what resolution that will be

I need someone to help explain the best thing for me to do, also a lot of you seem to be telling me to work in Apple prores 22, so should I be converting all my footage to prores and setting my sequence to prores?

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks
    Michelle

Thank you Dave that sounds so simple, there does not seem to be an option in the sequence settings for pro res though, here are my options:

    Aspect Ratio:
    Multimedia Smal (4:3)
    Multimedia Large (4:3)
    NTSC DV (3:2)
    CCIR 601 NTSC (40:27)
CCIR 601 / DV PAL (5:4) this is what it is set at
    CCIR 601 PAL sq. (4:3)
    HDTV 720p (16:9)
    HDTV 1080i (16:9)
    HD (960×720) (16:9)
    HD (1280×1080) (16:9)
    HD (1440×1080)(16:9)
    Film (Academy) 4:3
    Custom
    Custom (5:4)

There is no Apple Pro Res

    Pixel Aspect Ratio
    Square
    NTSC – CCIR 601 / DV (720×480)
PAL – CCIR 601 (720×576) this is what it is set to
    HD (960×720)
    HD (1280×1080)
    HD (1440×1080)

    So are they right?
