Resolution issues with image sequences

Hi,

I am having a lot of trouble exporting a Premiere Pro cs6 project.
My timeline is 1920 x 1080 30p

I have AE comps and 30p footage together. The AE comps are image sequences.

When I export out, the image sequences become very mushy and a lot of detail is lost in the each frame, the footage looks fine though.

I exported out at the highest bit rate to test and everything looked good, the only downside is the file size was 1.3 gb for a 50 second video.

Export settings are

h.264
1920-1080
29.97
I tried all different low and high bit rates.
same results except the one where I exported at the highest bit rate

I have also noticed even in playback on the PP timeline the image sequences seem low res? but if I open it up in the viewer panel the resolution is crystal clear

any tips I would really appreciate it.

I am just guessing, go to the top Sequences-Sequence Settings and near the bottom of the pop up window Is Video Previews with format, codec, sizes, etc. I think this is only controlling what you see and not the final render output quality. Try using a better quality format and codec depending on what your system can handle for real time playback, the preview. If you have a disk raid system then maybe you can preview the highest using uncompressed full 1080p, if that is what your project and footage might be.

A few questions:

– Please clarify whether the AE comps contain image sequences, or were exported as image sequences. What format was used (PNG, JPEG2k, DPX, other)?
– Are there any effects applied to the clips in Premiere?
– Is GPU acceleration enabled?

There are a variety of potential causes. Please export a short test clip (a few seconds in length) containing some of the problem footage and post the samples here. The requested encoder settings are as follows:

General
Format: H.264
Maximum Render Quality: Enable
Use Previews: Disable

Multiplexer Tab
Multiplexer: MP4
Stream Compatibility: Standard

Video Tab
Profile: High
Key Frame Distance: 15
Maximum Depth: Enable

Test 1: Level 3.1, Target BR=12, MaxBR=17.5
Test 2: Level 4.1, Target BR=24, MaxBR=36
Test 3: Level 4.1, Target BR=40, MaxBR=60

If none of the files looks good, please also create a test clip with the max settings you used previously.
