    Hey everyone.

So, I designed an image in PS with a size of 720×480, resolution is 72. This image was intended from the start to be scaled down after design to fit a business card size (about 3.5in x 2in.). Well, that’s what I did. I merged all layers, saved it as a new file (to save the original for changes later) and scaled down that new image to 3.5in x 2in inside a canvas of 720×480 and 72 resolution. What I found was that it looked pretty terrible, very pixelated. What looked fantastic with stunning clarity (there were lots of subtle details) at 100%, looked awful at about 20% of its original size. Is this just a resolution issue? Thanks for any help!

You are ignoring the resolution field… be sure to change the print resolution to somewhere between 200-300 ppi….

I suggest taking a gander at Understanding Adobe Photoshop the book as this is a pretty deep topic.
