I’m sorry, maybe this is just me but I’ve been using SVP 8 for a year now (moving from Premiere) and there is one thing that has always troubled me…the way SVP handles resizing/cropping/zooming/panning etc…

In Premiere, I can bring a still element into the video area and resize it dynamically. I can drag it and move it wherever I want it.

In SVP I have to do the crop/pan thing and it is often difficult to get things positioned right. You can’t just move it where you want it but have to resize the crop area (often making it huge) just so you can reposition.

In addition, I need to do a PIP now with the ability to zoom IN on the PIP area (while maintaining the PIP frame size).

Does anyone have any insight into this delimma?

    Thanks,

    Ken

    There is no delimma,
This is how Sony Vegas features are incorporated. Surprisingly,
the feature you are describing among others i find a lot easier
to do in Vegas than in Premiere Pro. You only mention the pan
crop feature, what happen to using the “track motion” feature,
which takes things to another level…..

    Well Ken,
If you haven’t yet used the track motion features, you
have not even skimmed the surface of the endless possibilities
    that lies within vegas.
    Good Luck.
