    Hi there,

I apologise in advance for this question, it must be screamingly obvious to do, but i can’t seem to find out how.

In Avid, i can add a resize effect to the video, and change the horizontal, or the vertical (or both of course). In Avid, i am changing the video from 100 to 114. i am now using final cut , and need to be doing the same. i have looked at the motion tab, but it’s not there. and when i drag the video when in image and wireframe mode, i can’t seem to find anywhere that it is telling me the exact changes i have made.

so basically, i need to add a 14 percent increase to the horizontal of the video, and can’t do it 🙁

    THANKS A LOT

    Hi Ian,
In FC you will need to use the Scale and Distort in the motion tab.
    Cheers

    Ian,

After cutting in a shot on the timeline you double click on it, loading it into the viewer, and then check out the Motion tab. There you will see, among others, the scale parameter that Rafael mentioned, which will be set at 100% just like your old Avid, and just waiting for you to change the percentage.

This is basic stuff. The Aspect Ratio function in Distort will change the image aspect ratio. You can also do it by dragging in the canvas with the Shift key.

    All the best,

Hi there, just wondered in fcp7 does the Aspect ratio slider represent percentages as well? The Basic Motion scale slider seems to and starts at 100, but the Aspect Ratio slider starts at 0. So if I wanted to do a 5% stretch would I just need to add 5 in the Aspect Ratio tab? Thanks very much indeed for any help..
