Again I need your help and counsel.

Sometime back I asked about resizing pictures. They are jep. The size is 3008 width 2000 height 300 resolution. I know this to large for Vegas Pro 8. I need to get them to 1440.960.150 so that I can pan/crop them in Vegas.

I was advised by Allen Z. to look at Ultimate S Pro. Or Excalibur 6.

I am now ready to get one or the other. My question is this.
Will either program let me take 300 still pictures at the same time and resize them to what I want at one time. I like pan/crop in Vegas, I only want them change the size so I can use them in Vegas.

Why is my name in Red? How do I change it?
    Thanks Very Much

Grab yourself a copy of IrfanView (it’s free) and use the Batch Resize function built into it to do this for you.
I use it all the time for this purpose and it’s very quick and easy to do this.

Yea, neither Ultimate S Pro nor Excalibur will resize your images for you. That is best left to a graphics application. What Ultimate S Pro and Excalibur will do is create photo montages from the images with just a few clicks. Ultimate S Pro has a dedicated Photo Montage tool and Photo Motion tool for making montages. Excalibur has a collection of individual tools that can make photo montages quickly as well.

In the interest of “full disclosure” I am one of the authors of Ultimate S Pro so you should try the free trial of both tools and decide for yourself which one you prefer.

I’m a big fan of Irfanview but is all you want to do Event Pan/Crop to fit the screen? Or are you actually having problems with size? If the later, simply click the Event Pan/Crop insignia and select the 16:9 Preset in the drop-down.

Thanks Greg, I am have problems with the size. They are 3008×2000 and I need to get them to about 1440×960. I want pan and zoom in and out with them. I will try the drop down and see what happens

    Thanks Again

Don, as Greg said, Vegas will automatically size all images to fit the frame, although you still need to do a “Match Output Aspect” on them, either through Pan/Crop or with a script.
The main benefit to resizing is that it helps with memory issues in Vegas.
You need to determine ahead of time how deep a zoom you’re going to be doing and resize accordingly.
For example, if your zoom will only be 2X, then an image of 1440×960 is fine.
If you’re going to be doing a 5X zoom though, then you may want to stay with the original image as 5X on a 1440×960 might not look all that good.

OK, this drop is working better than anything I have tried so far. With a little work here and there, it just might work. Anyway it gives me something to work with.

Greg and Mike Many, many Thanks
