June 10, 2014 at 1:24 pmI haven’t tried running CC cleaner after uninstall… I’ll try that as a last resort as soon as I’ll have a spare half an hour and keep you posted.

Understood, but did you also try disabling the cache and then purging both the disk cache and RAM before re-enabling it as I suggested?

June 10, 2014 at 1:49 pmSorry I was unclear.
This is not a solution, but a troubleshooting step. If you change the resolution or framerate of the comp with the ghost thumbnail, does it persist?

June 10, 2014 at 2:02 pmNo worries and thanks again for helping!
Well, if I change the frame rate nothing happens BUT changing the resolution gets rid of the ghost image. Returning to the original size though brings back the spurious frame. -

This still sounds very much like a cache issue to me.
What if you close Ae and manually delete the entire Ae cache folder?

June 10, 2014 at 2:22 pmNo chance… didn’t work.
Cache had been my first thought as well but whatever I tried it didn’t work.
I’ll try to uninstall and run CC cleaner and keep you posted.
