n Motionbuilder, whenever a bone is rotated, the rotation handles reset back each time so that they are oriented with the global xyz axes. This makes it easy to manipulate bones.

In C4D, whenever a bone is rotated, the rotation handles themselves rotate and become skewed with respect to the global axes. This makes rotating bones very difficult. Furthermore, if the bones are not created with extreme care so that their initial rotation is fairly close to the global axes, rotating them becomes a nightmare.

Is there a way to have C4D reset the bone’s object axis back to 0 each time the bone is rotated like Motionbuilder does? If C4D doesn’t have an option for this, are there any plugins that will give the desired effect?

I would just use the object axis tool and set the bones’ coordinates back to zero each time, but that doesn’t work. I also don’t want to use any null bones, since things are complicated enough already. 😉

    Thanks,
    Jack
