Request help with converting dv on mac to windows
FYI – I’m very new at this. I have dv edited in FCP4.5. My boss wants to review the footage. He’s on a windows machine in Italy. I must convert the footage and place it on an FTP site for him to download. I initially converted it to MPEG4 thinking if it was appropriate for web and it would work for this app. No dice. He’s a neophyte as well and says, “Just make it avi”.
What do you recommend?

I recomend you point your boss to the apple site and download quicktime for windows and watch the Mpeg 4 files.
QuickTime is a worldwide standard and should be fine. It is also free.
If you have to make avi’s you might have to buy.
