Didn’t get any responses to my previous post

Looks like I will be moving up to a Quad G5 this Jan (waiting to see what developments there are @ MacWorld. As these come equipped with PCIe, it looks like I will also have to upgrade the cards inside.

Currently, my G5 2.0DP has a DL Extreme (going out to a DigiBeta deck and a Sony PVM 20LS ref monitor. For storage, I have a RocketRAID 1820a with an 8×250 stripe (RAID0). Left over from my pre-SATA days, I still have a 300 GB SCSI array on a ULD4. I do both offline (miniDV, DVCam, BetaSP and D-Beta) as well as Digibeta online.

Since I have to buy all new gear for the guts, I figured it was time to step up to HD, though I would still be doing mostly SD at first.

    This is my thinking:

SATAII card (recomendations?) with 16 channels (4 TB). Do I need SCSI or FIbre?
DL HD Pro (can I do 444 on a SATAII array?), Kona 2 or LH, or a Multibridge Extreme
Can I get by with my current monitor? (is there an inexpensive way for HD REFERENCE monitoring – no LCD)
