    hey i was wondering what the trasparent name tag/lable you see slide in and out is called and how to make one
    i useally see it on news shows and they use to slid in the reporters name and the location he is at. i hope you all understand what what i am getting at, please help

    It’s generally called a lower third. Creating one is very simple once you know how to use after effects.
    Please read through the manual. It is actually helpful.
    The simplest way to create one is to make a solid and mask it off to be the shape you want. (Or create a shape layer)
    Then put text over top of it.
    Parent the text to the shape.
    Animate the shape’s position.
