  • Replace materials on 3D objects brought in to AE CS4?

Posted by Eric Goldstein on January 8, 2009 at 5:46 pm

    Hi,

Is it possible to replace materials on scenes generated from 3D aps in AE (CS4). I’ve been able to separate 3D objects using IDs for depth of field, fog, etc. But can you actually replace materials on the objects? This was possible in Combustion.

I’ve also seen a product called RE: Map. Is this plug-in necessary to acomplish replacing materials? Does it work?

    Any thoughts/guidance are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Eric

Not too sure if it can be done without Zaxwerks. For Re.Map, send Pete an emaill via their site. He’s normally pretty quick with replies.

    Good Luck

    Hi Roland,

Thanks for your thoughts. I’m checking out the Zaxwerks
    products now.
